[4-May-2017] Multiple Web Server Outage -- ongoing

Last updated 5/4 3:00 pm:

Security issues forced a temporary shutdown of multiple Mines websites this afternoon. At this time, mitigation plans have been formulated and some of those websites are back online now (with restrictions). Others may be less than fully functional.

This issue does not affect the main Mines websites at inside.mines.edu, www.mines.edu, or any virtual hosts running on the associated servers.

The issue does affect websites housed on the server pebble.mines.edu. Mines software downloads may also be affected.

As a  precautionary measure, access to the affected websites is currently available only via the Mines campus network or through the Mines VPN. Faculty should advise students who need to access these functional websites to do so only when they are on campus, or via the VPN (https://vpn.mines.edu) when off-campus.

If your website remains offline or not functional, please contact the CCIT Technology Support Center at extension x2345 (303.384.2345) or via an urgent Mines Help Center "Helpdesk" support request, http://helpdesk.mines.edu.

Our apologies for the inconvenience.
