BACKGROUND

Mohammed Hadi received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Kuwait University in 1988 and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1992 and 1996. He joined Kuwait University in 1996, until he left in 2014 on an extended leave after serving as a Professor and Associate Dean there. Prof. Hadi joined Colorado School of Mines as an Adjunct Professor in 2014, changing to a Research Professor since 2016. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder. His research is currently focused on FDTD development for modeling electrically large structures as well as algorithm optimizations in curvilinear coordinates. He has over a ten years’ experience in governmental work and consultations in the areas of engineering training, higher education planning and Kuwait's labor profile studies. He served as a Board member of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development's prestigious National Engineers Training Program for several years. He is a sworn-in consulting expert at Kuwait's Court of Appeals since 2007. He also held membership and chair positions in several high-level governmental inquiries at Kuwait's Ministries of Defense, Trade and Industry, Energy, and Higher Education, including membership of Kuwait's Private Universities Executive Office and Counselor for the Minister of Trade and Industry. He was a Visiting Research Scholar at Duke University, Durham, NC, during the academic year 2007-08 and at Colorado School of Mines 2014-2016. He also served on technical program committees for several conferences by IEEE and Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society.
