I am a formally educated chemist holding a BS and MS degree in Chemistry from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in Socorro, NM (New Mexico’s counterpart to CSM). I have a 30+ year career in chemistry laboratories with experience from the mining, petroleum, power generation, and biotechnology industries, as well as, academia and the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Before joining the Mines community, I worked in the contract research industry with a company specializing in catalysis and electrochemistry research applied to energy and environmental problems. During those 13 years, I developed the various EH&S programs that are applicable to a small research organization.
I enjoy living in the mountains west of Arvada and spend most of my non-working hours maintaining and improving my property. Occasionally, I enjoy target archery, fishing the Western Slope waters, and studying Japanese language.
