Nucleus Scholars are students dedicated to their own scholarship and service to others in the Mines community and the greater Denver area community. Nucleus Scholars are students who come from diverse backgrounds, experiences and places. This community is a small, tight-knit group who may share a common identity as the first person in their families to attend college. This community has the privilege of taking the best attributes of the other TLC communities and combining them to create one awesome community with a foundation of scholarship. The community may go camping, skiing, to a Broadway musical in downtown Denver or to a gallery opening for Denver's First Friday. They will play on intramural teams together as well as engage in workshops on building personal and professional skills, time management, financial independence, as well as special group lectures from the Mines faculty that are designed especially for the Nucleus family. Nucleus will also partner with many other TLCs to learn and grow and have a blast together, while getting to come home to a tight-knit community that is designed just like a family within the larger Mines community. This group of scholars understands the benefits of utilizing the resources on campus to benefit their own scholarship and they act as a support network to one another.

The Nucleus Scholars Community is housed in Aspen Hall.
