Sexual Violence Prevention and Education

Mines is dedicated to educating our community, including students, staff, and faculty members, about the prevalence and impact of sexual violence, how we can better support and believe survivors, and how we can all be better community members.

Someone I Love Workshop

Someone I Love is facilitated by the Blue Bench. The three hour workshop focuses on understanding trauma, helping a loved one, and providing self-care to the secondary survivor of sexual assault. The workshop is designed for partners, friends, and family members of survivors.

Breaking Silence

Breaking Silence is a nonprofit that engages and inspires communities to take action and recognize their responsibility for the impact interpersonal violence (IPV) has on our culture. The organization is committed to promoting empathy, healing and open dialogue through a traveling interactive exhibit in which the stories of survivors are brought to life with chilling realism.

The exhibit takes approximately 20-30 minutes to walk through. There will also be victim advocates at the end to help process.
