Study Abroad and Cooperative Education Programs

STUDY ABROAD:

CSM has exchange agreements with many universities in other countries to give students the opportunity to study abroad. The CSM Office of International Programs assists students in obtaining approval for these programs, and pre-approval for the courses.

Where a student pays their tuition can have an impact on their financial aid and scholarship funding.  Please stop by the Financial Aid Office for pertinent details.

TIPS:

Students on official exchange programs will pay the normal CSM tuition and the Technology fee; students studying on non-exchange programs will pay the CSM Technology fee, and tuition and other expenses directly to the hosting university.  Students will automatically be registered in “foreign study” credit so they officially maintain their student standing at CSM, and remain eligible for loan deferments.

COOPERATIVE EDUCATION PROGRAMS:

Many students participate in Cooperative Education (CO-OP) programs, where the student will work full or part-time for a company during a semester.  The CSM Career Center is available to help you with details.  Most scholarships are automatically held for the students that return to CSM, but ALL students should check with the Financial Aid Office or the appropriate departments (such as Athletics, ROTC, etc.) to make arrangements for their return.

TIP:

Students will automatically be registered in “CO-OP" credit so they officially maintain their student standing at CSM, and remain eligible for loan deferments.
