Hot Wire CVD of Advanced Polymers

We are investigating the hot wire chemical vapor deposition (HWCVD) of advanced polymers such as Teflon and parylenes. Our goals are to better understand the surface chemistry occuring both at the hot-wire and at the deposition surface. We have developed a unique flow geometry that simplifies the 3-D problem to one dimension. In-situ mass spectroscopy and measurements of growth rate allows us to extract kinetic data from this system.
