Pyrosol Deposition of Oxides

We have started a modeling investigation of pyrosol (pyrolysis of an aerosol) deposition of oxide thin films. Pyrosol is an green manufacturing technology with potential cost savings for the production of large area coatings for applications such as architectural windows and photovoltaic panels.  We are developing detailed models the process which involve solving the coupled equations of momentum, heat, and mass transfer.  We are also investigating the dynamics of aerosol evolution and droplet interactions with the substrate. This project is a collaboration with a local company Green Development L.L.C. and an experimental group at Jiao Tong University in Shanghai.  PhD candidate Wenli Yang is in charge of the project.
