THE BEST WAY TO INITIALLY OBTAIN or UPGRADE SOFTWARE IS TO GET IT DIRECTLY FROM THE USGS USGS software. It will be the most recent version.
The following are proprietary and not available from the USGS
Ground Water Modeling System (GMS) (VERY LARGE) is from EMSI Environmental Modeling Systems Inc. http://www.ems-i.com. Then begin the reigstration process by going to File>Register and sending the security string to me epoeter@mines.edu.
Ground-Water Vistas (GWV) is from Jim Rumbaugh at Environmental Systems International- http://www.groundwatermodels.com/. The GWV Student Version is VERY LARGE but you can download it there (OR borrow the CD from me at class). You will need to first install gwv.exe, then install the update (download below), then run gwv and go to help, about, register and email the system code to me at epoeter@mines.edu for a temporary password to make the code fully functional during the semester (Depending on your browser you may need to LEFT CLICK and have it prompt you for where to save the file OR RIGHT CLICK and enter where to save the file in order to download exe installation file "gwv.exe")
