Join us for an incredible sound experience as Concerts in the Library presents “Armando Lopez and the Brothers of Brass”. Armando Lopez, a Mines senior in Chemistry is also an outstanding Denver-based funk and jazz saxophonist. He has performed throughout the Front Range with dozens of Denver bands including Bop Skizzum, The Workshy, Roots & Rhythm and the Brother of Brass.
The Brothers of Brass is rooted in southern brass-band music and brings the New Orleans street tradition to Denver. Founded by tuba player Khalil Simon, the Brothers have spent years traveling across the continental US and Mexico playing street music for tens of thousands of listeners before finally settling in Denver, CO. Today the band can be seen at stadiums and theatres across the Front Range and work diligently to bring the highest quality brass band experience to the streets of Colorado.
