CoorsTek Closure-Ventilation, Fire System Outage 1-13-18

Outage Date: Saturday, 1-13-18
Outage Time: 8am to 12:30pm
Purpose: To test the building for air leakage by sealing up all exterior openings, including doors and tunnel access. To pressurize the building with large fans and to use smoke to identify any leakage.
System(s) involved: Ventilation, Fire Detection & Notification, Access Entry
Effect(s) on Occupants: No building access. Fire alarm & sprinkler offline. No lab or office ventilation. During this time, all fume hoods will be shutdown.
To prepare for this maintenance activity you will need to:
• Not work with hazardous chemicals.
• Close all chemical containers & properly store them, including those
within the laboratory hoods.
• Verify your waste containers are closed.
• Submit full waste containers for waste pickup.
• Close/lower the sash on your chemical hood.
• Close all gas cylinder and gas distribution system valves except for
inert gases such as nitrogen and argon.
