Cognitive Walkthrough
DUE: Monday, November 20
Purpose: Perform a cognitive walkthrough
For this homework assignment you should:
- Pick a fairly complex program that you have access to, such as
Excel,
Word, PhotoShop, etc.
- Select a task which would take approximately six to eight steps
to complete.
- Perform a cognitive walkthrough, as discussed in class (also see
Usability
notes online).
- Hand in a page which provides the name of the program, the task
you
selected, and a list of steps, where each step includes your analysis
of
what the user would be thinking at that step. Then list any
potential problems you found, and (if possible) what changes you might
make so that the task is more intuitive.
