The Colorado School of Mines and the National Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colorado are hosting the 2016 International Summer School on Thermoelectrics. This school will target graduate students working on thermoelectric-related PhD topics. Post-doctoral researchers and young faculty are likewise invited. The school will be organized by internationally recognized experts in thermoelectrics from the Colorado School of Mines, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and faculty members from across the US.

The study of thermoelectric materials is highly interdisciplinary, fusing view-points from the fields of inorganic, physical, and organic chemistry, solid state physics, and materials science and engineering. The goal of this school is to provide researchers with an overview of the aspects of each field that are critical for a comprehensive understanding of thermoelectric materials and devices. Topics ranging from electronic and thermal transport behavior, synthesis, characterization, theory, device design and cost/efficiency analysis with be covered. Additionally, each research group represented will have the opportunity to present a summary of their group's current efforts.
