about me:

i live by solid determination. i strive to create the means for a better tomorrow- through inspiration, technology, and philosophy.

though it has been a struggle, i have never isolated my energies to a single discipline. in such a random and complex world, to do so is foolish.

i excelled in the international baccalaureate program in high school, exhibiting strong proficiency in analytical as well as creative writing. my style was distinct and potent.

friends, relatives, and mentors advised i pursue higher education in the liberal arts disciplines, as my (apparent, at the time) greatest strengths lay in those areas. however, because i saw greater importance in science and technology in society than i did the liberal arts, i opted to enroll at the colorado school of mines, where i have honed my skills in math and science. what was once my weakness, is now my key.

by doing so, i have built an intimate relationship with the industry that will propel America into the future, an industry that the Obama administration has placed emphasis on in terms of economic and national importance. i understand the gears that make industrial America and cyber culture possible.

this knowledge and understanding has benefitted me in terms of self-realization. understanding technology and science has opened intellectual doors for me that i would otherwise be unable to enter.

following engineering curriculum inadvertantly helped my writing and artistic abilities to flourish. to follow a writing or art curriculum is to adhere to the guidelines and ideas of others, a recipie more or less. this stifles creativity and self-expression, because it causes one to think in terms of paradigms and categories established by someone else. to approach the art form individually and without such categories and paradigms fosters a more individual and unique (and furthermore, desirable) result.

my point is that NOT pursuing higher education for writing and art has actually helped me to create more successful work. my efforts are resultantly further from the mainstream, which gives them more power should they ever merge with the mainstream.
