Education
- I received my Bachelors of Science in Engineering Physics from
CSM in May,
2010.
- I am currently working on my masters degree in Applied Physics.
Research Interests
- As an undergraduate, I studied organic photovoltaics with Dr.
Furtak and Dr. Collins. We were interested in novel ways to
passivate the surface of zinc oxide, hopefully leading to organic
chemicals that could promote charge transfer.
- As a graduate student, I am studying a relatively new material
with Dr. Lusk. We're looking at an allotrope of silicon,
type I clathrate silicon. This structure is basically a crystal
made out of cages. Our hope is to study the effect of filling
those cages with guest atoms on the optical properties of quantum
dots.
Academic Interests
- Condensed Matter physics
- Techniques of integration
- Introductory physics education
GK-12 Program
- While working on my Masters degree, I am privilaged to be a part
of the GK-12 Fellowship program. To learn more about it, or to see any
lesson plans, follow the
