Congratulations to our senior graduates Daniel, Andy, and Nick.
Ami, Daniel, and Andy presented their work at GRADS 2018
. Great job everyone!
We presented our paper on two-way antenna patterns
at EuCAP 2018
We held a convened session on 'wireless energy harvesting and power transfer
' at ACES 2018
in Denver. We also presented 2 papers in this session. Ami made her first presentation here. Great job Ami!
Our book Reflectarray Antennas: Theory, Designs, and Applications
is published. It is available directly from Wiley
and also amazon
Our comprehensive book on Reflectarray Antennas
is in the final stages of publication and will be available in Feb. 2018. A special thanks to Wiley production team for all their help and attention to detail throughout this work.
We are offering a half-day Short Course on Reflectarray Antennas
at the European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP 2018
) in London, UK, on April 13, 2018, along with F. Yang and A. Z. Elsherbeni.
A warm welcome to our new group member Ami Ajay Desai
, who's beginning her PhD studies. Also, best wishes to Daniel Schemmel who completed his MS studies in our group and is now heading to MIT to start his PhD studies.
We presented 3 papers at the 2017 IEEE AP-S Symposium
in San Diego. Along with Professors Fan Yang and Atef Elsherbeni, we also offered a half-day short course on reflectarray antennas entitled Reflectarray Antennas: Theory, Designs, and Applications
Congratulations to the first group of Colorado School of Mines students
who received their Level 1 Keysight RF and Microwave Industry-Ready Student Certificates
Daniel presented his research
at GRADS 2017
on April 7. He also successfully defended his MS Thesis
on April 12 with the title 'A wireless energy harvesting system with beamforming capabilities'
. Congratulations, Daniel!
entitled 'Pulse dispersion in phased arrays
' was published in International Journal of Antennas and Propagation
. In this work, we outline the limitations of phased array antennas arising from their limited instantaneous bandwidth and provide a comparative study of pulse dispersion in phased arrays as a function of beam scanning.
We officially announced the Keysight RF and Microwave Industry-Ready Student Certification Program at Colorado School of Mines
. Mines students that are awarded this certification demonstrate their achievements in the knowledge and usage of Keysight EESof EDA software and instrumentation and will immediately be able to deliver faster results at a higher level to our industry partners and, ultimately, their employers.
Daniel presented his preliminary design for a Smart Wireless Energy Harvester
at the National Radio Science Meeting
in Boulder, Colorado. Daniel was also awarded a Fellowship Grant from the National Academics
in Washington, DC, to attend this conference. Well done Daniel!
We presented the results of our investigations into Pulse Dispersion in Phased & Timed Arrays
at the National Radio Science Meeting
in Boulder, Colorado. In this work, we delineate the system level requirements for wideband communications in antenna arrays.
We attended the second EM CO (professors and researchers in Colorado working in Electromagnetics area) meeting at Colorado State University on Friday, December 2. The purpose of the EM CO meetings is to gain a better knowledge of what our EM colleagues in CO are doing, and establish new collaborations, research and education initiatives, and many more good things.
Oct. 2016: We are offering another half-day Short Course on Reflectarray Antennas at the European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP 2017) in Paris, France, on March 24, 2017, along with F. Yang and A. Z. Elsherbeni.
Sep. 2016: We presented a paper entitled 'Phased array far field in the time domain' at the International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications (ICEAA) in Cairns, Australia.
Jul. 2016: We offered a half-day short course at the IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation in Fajardo, Puerto Rico entitled 'Reflectarray Antennas: Theory, Designs, and Applications' along with F. Yang and A. Z. Elsherbeni.
Mar. 2016: Our article entitled 'Single-feed quad-beam transmitarray antenna design' with A. H. Abdelrahman, A. Z. Elsherbeni, and F. Yang was published in IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation. In this work we demonstrate the first single-feed quad-beam array lens prototype.
Aug. 2015: We published a comprehensive review article on beam scanning reflectarray antennas entitled 'Beam-scanning reflectarray antennas: a technical overview and state-of-the-art' in IEEE Antennas and Propagation Magazine with F. Yang and A. Z. Elsherbeni.
