The Colorado School of Mines is located in Golden, Colorado in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and about 15 miles west of Denver and was rated amongst the top U.S. universities in the most recent U.S. News and World Reports rankings. Additionally, there are close research interactions with both the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and United States Geological Survey (USGS) that are also located here in Golden.

For students seeking to join the Richards group

The Richards' group is always looking for enthusiastic students to join our 'Nano-team'.

Prospective students should apply to the Chemistry graduate program at the Colorado School of Mines (CSM graduate admissions).

Research Assistantships are available and current CSM students interested in joining the Richards' research group should arrange an appointment with Prof. Richards. As selection of a research group is a very important decision, prospective group members are also encouraged to meet with current members, attend group meetings and/or do a mini-lab rotation (spend a short time working in the lab) both with our group and at least one other.

For postdoctoral applicants

Applications should include a curriculum vitae (with picture), cover letter explaining how the applicants' skills may be useful in the Richards' laboratory, transcripts (or copies) from undergraduate and graduate school, availability (soonest and latest possible starting dates) and the names of three references with contact information.
