WELCOMEScarcity of potable water will continue to be one of the main problems humanity faces in the 21st century. Based on the current trend, membrane processes will continue to be a leading technology for water and wastewater treatment practices, particularly due to its high product quality, reduced waste production, and smaller space requirements. My main field of research is membrane processes for water purification, wastewater reclamation, and desalination. My current focus is on the understanding and implementation of membrane contactor processes (forward osmosis and membrane distillation) and pressure-driven membrane processes (reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, ultrafiltration, and microfiltration) in various reuse and zero-liquid-discharge applications.
