Interests

  • Development of similar/dissimilar joining technologies for non-ferrous lightweight metals and advanced high strength steels
  • Modeling of welding processes such as temperature profile and residual stress distribution;
  • Application and development of the advanced characterization tools such as synchrotron and neutron scattering to in-situ monitor the transient material state during manufacturing and processing, e.g., phase transformation, stress/strain, and evolution of precipitates/voids in various alloys.
