8th Annual AFC Bake Sale, Contest and Auction: Registration

Thank you for your interest in participating in the AFC 8th Annual Bake Sale, Contest and Silent Auction on Tuesday, November 22nd!

AFC Bake Sale 2016!

Bake Sale, Contest and Auction Item Suggestions:  

  • Breakfast items: coffee cakes, muffins, pastries, cinnamon rolls, quick breads.
  • Breads: rolls, scones, muffins, bread sticks, crackers.
  • Candies/snacks: Fudge, petit fours, whoopie pies, chocolate covered fruit or pretzels, caramel corn, seasoned popcorn, popcorn balls.
  • Desserts: cakes, pies, tarts, cobblers, cheese cakes, cookies, cupcakes.
  • Cupcakes, muffins, or cookies sell well in groups of half-dozen or so. Smaller items packaged for convenient grab-and-go are very popular sale items.
  • Please keep in mind that the sale/auction is on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Items that won't keep until Thanksgiving day may not be suitable for this event.
  • Make your super secret favorite family recipe or create something new!

Entry Notes: 

  • Contest (+ Auction): These items will be entered into the contest and eligible for awards. The items will be available for purchase by the highest bidder in the silent auction. If you enter an item in the Contest + Auction, you will need to bring at least one of the item for the auction and some for judging and samples.  (You may make and bring more than one for auction.)
  • Auction:  These items will be available for purchase by the highest bidder in the silent auction. Samples for tasting are appreciated, but not required.
  • General Sale: These items will be available during the event for immediate purchase. Samples for tasting are appreciated, but not required.
  • On-line registration CLOSES @ Noon on Monday Nov 21st. Auction and General Sale items may be donated on the day of the event, but registration is encouraged to help with event coordination.


Registration for the 8th Annual AFC Bake Sale is now closed. We will accept general bake sale and auction items on the day of the event. (We are no longer accepting registration for contest items.)

Connected Learning Community Award

The Connected Learning Community Award is given to an Administrative Faculty member who has demonstrated and modeled in their work at Mines the concepts of the connected learning community.
