Large E-mail InBox Notice Please note this message applies to the size of your INBOX. It does not mean you have exceeded your total quota. Summary: The size of your e-mail inbox exceeds 50 megabytes. This can cause you and others to experience poor e-mail performance. It does not necessarily mean that you have exceeded or are nearing your disk quota. Please read the following information from Academic Computing & Networking (AC&N) at the Colorado School of Mines. If you have any questions about what actions to take, please contact AC&N at support@mines.edu, at x3431, in CTLM Computer Commons 156 or ask your departmental AC&N liaison for assistance. The size of your e-mail inbox currently exceeds 50 megabytes and needs to be reduced. If no action is taken it will result in poor performance when you read or send e-mail and you will repeatedly receive these notices. Many times all that is needed is to clean up old, deleted messages which are no longer needed and have not yet been purged or expunged. Another common remedy is to archive old e-mail to CD-ROM or other off-line media. To check your disk quota and see your Inbox usage summary, which includes the number of messages marked as deleted in, (but not purged from) your inbox, go to http://newuser.mines.edu/quota. Enter your e-mail user name and password, then click 'Get Quota Report' and look at the table titled Email Inbox Message Summary Report. The report can take several minutes to generate if your e-mail inbox is large. Thank you for your attention in this matter. Academic Computing and Networking Colorado School of Mines support@Mines.EDU
