Work Experience

I got my first job offer from Lucent Technologies and joined Bell Labs China, Lucent Technologies in April 1999. I fortunately worked with many great colleagues around the world for four years to develop Lucent's high-quality Intelligent Network products. My main activities and awards are listed below.

Activities

Worked on data modeling of SDHLR (Super Distributed Home Locator Register for 3G wireless and
data networks, a 2002 Bell Labs President Silver Award product), from November 2002 to April 2003.
Worked on the development of Web-based distributed Service Management System for Intelligent Network,
from April 2000 to October 2002 (including 9 months in Columbus, Ohio, USA).
- Worked on a few important features such as Network Element Management, View Management, Measurement,
  Auditing, Real Time Data Display, Announcement Management, Billing Management, Configuration Management.
- Passed the CMM Level 3 audit and the TL9000 audit.
- Completed usability enhancement for Ameritech and Sprint PCS.
- Provided on-site support to Sprint PCS in Kansas City.
- Worked on China Unicom CDMA Wireless Intelligent Network bidding.
Worked on the development of Intelligent Network Services (such as the Virtual Private Network service) and
data migration systems (for a Prepaid Calling Card Service of China Telecom), from April 1999 to March 2000.

Awards

A one-year position keeping and welcome back award, offered by the department director in Beijing, China when I left Lucent Technologies, 2003.
System Verification Hall of Fame, "for the outstanding quality and team effort during the requirements, design, development and
testing of a new feature in Service Management System", presented by the department director in Columbus, Ohio, 2002.
Promotion from MTS-1 to MTS (Member of Technical Staff), 2002.
A member of the 2000 Bell Laboratories President Gold Award winning team, presented by the president of Bell Laboratories Asia Pacific and China, June 2001.
Peer Recognition Award for excellent teamwork, presented by the department director in Columbus, Ohio, 2000.
Three Certificates of Appreciation for successful completion of projects VPN (Virtual Private Networks), UPT (Universal Personal Telecommunications),
and CAMEL (Customized Applications for Mobile Network Enhanced Logic), presented by the technical manager in Beijing, China, from 1999 to 2000.
Certificate of excellent contribution to the China Telecom data migration project, presented by the R&D vice president of Bell Labs China, 1999.
