Lab 2 assignment
You may complete this assignment in teams of two.
Complete the layout of the VU meter by moving components
and then routing the nets.
- Move resistors into the two boxes labeled "Put Ra-Rb in here",
- Leave the LM324, LEDs, and potentiometer where they are.
- Orient resistors to minimize trace length,
- Route the nets using 16 mil traces,
- Avoid right angles on traces,
- Do not route wires on bottom layer (no vias),
- Delete my instructions and boxes,
- Keep component designators (e.g. R1) and component values,
- Run the DRC with the vuMeter Design Rules rule set provided
to you in the inLab. Clear all warning and errors.
- (Bonus) Add Blaster to layer 21 using the import-bmp ULP.
Make sure to remove his background, just Blaster.
- Print your layout to PDF as follows:
- File → Print,
- In the Print pop-up,
- Printer: Microsoft Print to PDF
- Orientation: Landscape
- Alignment: Center
- Area: Full
- Scale factor: 3
- Click OK,
- In the "Save Print Output As" pop-up, navigate to your lab02
directory and give your file a meaningful name.
- Upload your PDF to Canvas in the "Lab 2 - VU meter layout" assignment.
