UNIT 2 -- BOUNDARY CONDITIONS:

Boundary conditions are applied to the ground-water flow equation in order to obtain a particular solution to the differential equation over the model domain. Depending on the viewpoint the model domain will vary. Generally, the model domain includes a three-dimensional body of ground, described with boundaries that are identifiable geohydrologic features.

The OBJECTIVE of UNIT 2 is for you to:

* UNDERSTAND what boundary conditions are

* KNOW the TYPES of boundary conditions

* UNDERSTAND the implications of utilizing each type of boundary condition

* BE AWARE of the potential pitfalls of using each boundary condition

* BE ABLE to assess a system and ENVISION the appropriate boundary types
