Our research interests focus on nanostructured thin films and materials for sustainable energy applications including thin film solar cells, catalytic membrane reactors, fusion fuel systems, and solid state batteries. Recent News

Summer 2024! The latest news:

* Closed out the 23-24 academic year with a number of graduates including Liz (MS), Izzy (BS), Cameron (BS), and Emma (BS). Liz will return to her alma mater West Point as an instructor, having also completed her college teaching certificate. Isabella graduated with Undergraduate Research Scholar Distinction honors, and will embark on her professional career at NREL. Cameron and Emma will continue working with us at Mines as MS candidates in the Materials Science and Nuclear Engineering programs, respectively.

* Welcome to Garrett Strain, who just completed his BS degree and is beginning in the group as an MS candidate in chemical engineering working on catlytic membrane reforming of methanol.

* We also welcome three new undergraduate research assistants Ben Bauerle, Caroline Hufnagel, and John Braford who are working on (in order) developing high performance membrane supports, metal foil pumps, and earth abundant catalysts for ammonia decomposition.

* Welcome to Dr. Mingyuan Cao. He is a postodco who will be assisting in modeling plasma systems and catalytic membrane reactors.
